Texas Longhorns:#1 Worthy??

With Kansas losing big to Kansas St. the other night, People, myself included, have speculated that Texas will be ranked #1 in the nation. Although I would like them at #1 and to be the top team in the NCAA. History says otherwise. Last season, the Longhorns were ranked #1 after a 17-0 start to the season and then lost 10 of the last 17 and didn’t make it out of the first round at the NCAA tournament. Led this season by top scorers sophomore G Jordan Hamilton and Freshman F Tristen Thompson who are ranked in the top 20 players in scoring, the Longhorns 10-0 in Big 12 play and 22-3 overall. The #3 team in the nation has been playing well, beating Baylor 69-60, and look to keep their undefeated streak going against Oklahoma State tonight. If history plays any part in this, I rather Texas not being #1. If they do, then they better not read into the hype because it will be their demise come NCAA tourney play.
